County Council, Interim IT Manager: ICT Programme Manager overseeing infrastructure refresh change management for the county. Portfolio of 60+ infrastructure projects with a budget of £3.2m included WAN upgrades including replacement switches & firewalls, PC rollout, SAN implementation, Server rationalisation and migration to Win Server 2003 and Exchange 2003. The change programme also included major new applications being implemented included Asset Management (Lagan), EDRMS, CRM (Lagan), Planning, corporate middleware, workflow and e Forms plus a number of smaller application upgrades and ESCR preparation via Sx3's CareFirst with Anite@Work EDRMS integration..

District Council, Interim IT Manager: Interim IT Manager to care-take the council's IT department whilst recruitment is underway for a permanent replacement for the outgoing Head of IT. The role involves working with the Gloucestershire Electronic Partnership which is a consortium of all seven councils in the county dedicated to joint projects. As in previous assignments input to recruiting permanent replacement staff is also required.

Government Contractor, ICT Service Contract Manager: Management of IS/IT & Voice and data outsourcing contract to the Home Office. Caretaking the service provider's interests and managing day to day commercial issues of service delivery. Management of Change Management procedures, in particular for IND, negotiation and management of KPIs, Service Credits and contract changes.

Central Government Agency, IS Service Manager: As deputy head of department of 25 staff, managed a large budget for the customer services team and all outsourcing contracts supporting an old Novel network with Windows ’95 running GroupWise and its replacement with a new Microsoft network system running Windows 2000.

Managed two main outsource suppliers who provided both a Help Desk and a Service Desk plus technical support from both desks for 7000 users of the new and old systems.

Directly responsibility for a 4 man team of contract managers who controlled the day to day running and issues associated with outsourcing communications and IS services.  Also Responsible for evolving strategies for restructuring the department and re-staffing to meet changing needs.

Led initiatives for contract updates, statistical reporting, developed many new operational procedures, oversaw the introduction of change management, contract novation, customer relationship management, negotiated TUPE and IPR issues and developed Exit plans for migration to future outsourcing supplier.

District Council, Interim IT Manager: A transition IT Management role to fill in between permanent IT manager incumbents. In addition to normal line management, the role required the management of a major Best Value infrastructure project to rebuild the computer room.

This included the replacement of the networks and introduction of new file server & network servers for Windows 2000, Intranet access and mail delivery upgrades plus roll-out of 260 PC upgrades to new spec & Windows 2000 plus user training.

County & Borough Councils, Interim IT Manager: Provided support to the management board with consultancy & guidance for two councils that have operated a joint ICT function for 25 years, to dissolve the partnership and build two separate ICT departments.

Tasks included evolution of a restructuring strategy, manage the re-staffing of the ICT department, staff selection, advising on outsourcing partners, platform migrations and e-government developments, recovery of problem projects and recommendations for project and general IT standards.

Telephony Company, Interim Project Manager: Provided Project Planning and Risk Analysis services to help set up a Switch support migration project.

Major UK ISP, Interim Programme Manager: Planning and Programme Management for the introduction of a billing system package, and the introduction of billable products.

Assisted client with the engagement of 3rd party suppliers for software, platform host & Call Centre operation.

Telco Software House, Interim Projects and Quality Manager: Responsible for establishing Projects and Quality Group plus managing the Customer Support Group for TELCO software house marketing a Subscriber Management & Billing System.

Introduced project standards based on PRINCE, project reporting procedures and quality standards based on corporate disciplines.
