Suttoners Vs Calmore 3rd’s
Back to 3rd Team
24th May
Team: P. Galbraith*, T. Perry, M. Donovan, G. Kinchington, J. Perris +, C.
Kinchington, A. Hargreaves, D. Croft, M. Gilmore, T. Perris, M. Perris.
Calmore made the long trip to the Suttoners ground hoping to bounce back from
the disappointment of last week by adding some senior players in Adam Hargreaves
and Martin Perris. Calmore were asked to bowl first. Galbraith and Croft opened
and with the first ball of the game Galbraith bowled the opener only to turn
around with the Umpire signalling a No Ball. Croft took one wicket but the two
openers knew they hadn’t done there job. Donovan and Perris then both bowled
lengthy spells to try and peg down the score Perris took 2 wickets and Donovan
bowled economically and was unlucky not to take a wicket. Adam Hargreaves was
brought into the attack and took two wickets but Calmore walked off after
bowling needing something special with the bat chasing 243 to win.
Calmore collapsed again with Galbraith and Donovan bowled in 2 balls leaving
Calmore once again 0/2. Glen and Tom put a short partnership together before
glen went in single figures. The most positive partnership came to crease as
Perry and Joe Perris tried to keep up with a rapidly increasing run rate. Perry
fell for 13 and was followed by Craig for a duck. Adam Hargreaves and Joe put a
tidy partnership together before confusion saw Perris run out for 28. Croft and
Hargreaves were going nicely up to drinks before Croft was caught at Point for
4. Hargreaves Batted through with the rest not particularly contributing and
ended 21* and Calmore all out for 89 154 runs short of there target.
Man of the match: Adam Hargreaves – A return from a hand injury to 3rd team
Cricket saw the experience spinner get 2 wickets and 21 not out and play the
biggest role in the team.
