Calmore III Vs Swan Green II                                                                                   Back to 3rd Team

31st May

  Team: K. Gardner, T. Perry, A. Bradshaw, I. Rose, P. Galbraith *, J. Perris +, M. Donovan, A. Hargreaves, D. Croft, T. Perris, M. Perris

Calmore returned to the “Old Ground” in the way they left it 3 weeks ago. Tidy fielding and good bowling saw Swan Green reeling. Openers Galbraith and Croft took a wicket each on a slow pitch. Donovan was inspired by the prospect of a Jug of Guinness and ended up with four wickets in retribution for 2 wicketless weekends. Martin Perris didn’t go for many and was unfortunate not to take a wicket. But it was “The Greaves” again who took 3 wickets to see Calmore bowl Swan Green out for 79.

The pitch was slow so Calmore knew by waiting for the ball and playing late they could easily chase this total. Kev Gardner showed everyone how to do it playing late cuts for his 24. Tom will feel unlucky to knick one behind on this pitch and it carry but it did and he went for 2. Ian Rose and Andy Bradshaw played very well on this pitch and brought the game home for Calmore with 8 wickets in hand. Ian hit 34 not out and Bradshaw in the 20’s seeing a comfortable Victory and a 100% home record in tacked.

Man of the match: Martin Donovan – His four wickets put Calmore in a dominating position and earned a deserved Guinness in the Club after.
