BTCV Cymru has been essential to the success of the project, providing support, expertise, tools, plants and training. Work parties of volunteers from Fforest Farm, Whitchurch have helped with much of the path work.

The South Wales Wildlife Trust, formerly Glamorgan Wildlife Trust,  has been associated with the Group from the beginning,  and has given advice on management and has surveyed  the wildlife on site.

The Countryside Council for Wales , with the Vale Council, designated the area as a Local Nature Reserve, for the unusual goldilocks buttercups found on the site and also for the value of the community management.

Environment Wales, a partnership between several organisations, has provided the Group with grants and advice.

The Princes Trust has also provided the Group with advice and funds, notably for the path for the disabled which was completed in September 2002

Northampton Pocket Parks were the inspiration for the project, there are now over 70 projects in the county in which the local community manages land for the benefit of the community and for wildlife.

Many Boys from Barry Comprehensive School have worked on the project over the years as part of their community service for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The Vale Centre for Voluntary Service provides support  to the Group and advice on funding.

Soroptimist  International Barry donated funds to help with the building of the path for the disabled  and joins forces with the Cwmtalwg Group to arrange picnics for the disabled and elderly and children.
